Very simple - just recommend a book to me. Based on what you know about me from real life, or my LJ posts or interests, suggest a book - fiction, non-fiction, whatever - that you think I'd like, appreciate or just generally benefit from reading.
Then post this in your own LJ, so people can recommend books to you to.

fashion_piranha asked the question above, so I'm going to answer it, maybe a little backwards.
My username - tamsynk. That would be my first name, Tamsyn and the first letter of my surname. Original, huh? I guess I just log on as me because 1. my name is weird enough to be a username 2. I like to meet people from the net in real life and it makes it less silly and 3. I'm hoping that people I have met through my hobbies will realise its me. Actually that happened once on the cubicle7 boards!
My hobbies (daft word) are roleplaying and other gaming (like larp, card games, and being obsessed by the current Arkham Horror league), watching films and writing. Not that I have been doing many of those lately since giving birth to my son three weeks ago. The whole lack of sleep thing is not a joke, and you spend hours a day just plain looking after him. All worth it of course.
My book reading is pretty bad for a wannabe writer. I have a stack of unread books at the end of my bed which is supposed to shame me into reading them whenever I go past it, but I think I have developed a blind spot now. My favourite authors are Neil Gaiman, Michael Marshall Smith, Kathy Reichs and Clive Barker. I am half way through a book by all of them. Otherwise I am reading vampire rpg books as I have been talking about writing an epic game for years, and with my maternity leave I have no excuse. I have also bought every issue of the new Angel comic which I have yet to read. Stupid internet taking up all my spare time.
What's left. Vital stats? Is what you are define you? My job for a water company certainly doesn't, being a mother doesn't, or being in your early 30s, neither does being a roleplayer. I could say who I am today, but that might not be who I am tomorrow. My friends describe me in three words as the 'destroyer of worlds', my husband as 'vivacious, strong and delicate'. Not sure if either are quite right, but what do I know?

Today's dilemma - do I write something just to have something in here and not be such a journal slacker, or do I wait until I have something decent to say?
Being a wannabe writer I should be able to find a topic to blurb about for a while but is that the real point of a journal? I always believed that you should only put stuff out there that is interesting for people to read, that adds to the internet experience (if only everyone thought that way huh?). Does that mean that if I can't think of anything worthwhile to say that I'm not a very interesting person? Or that I watch way too much tv? (that is probably true anyway). It could be argued that a journal is a way to let all your friends know what is going on with you and in your head. Since only 1 person reads this (Hi Slev!) then I might as well email him. Then again, if I wrote something fascinating then loads more people would want to read my journal (and maybe I could be an oscar nominated screen writer too. Doesn't that make you ill? Might have to write about being a madam or lesbian though).
Argh, my head is beginning to hurt. I will try and do better, honest. If anyone else is reading this, please wave......

OK today I was going to write about either the a) stupid cost of glasses or b) the stupid allure of 'I'm A Celebrity'... but instead I spent hours (while watching the tv natch) adding tags to all my post on here.
I hope you 4 people that read it appreciate it, and normal service will resume tomorrow, where I may go with one of those topics or something else entirely.
