Please don't judge me but I have been far too busy reading all 4 Twilight novels to post. It's going to be 4 in 2 weeks which is some sort of record (since I left school anyway). More of the usual drivel from me on LJ will resume shortly (and just in case you wonder, yes they are badly written but the characters are endearing, and well, vampires are hot).
Very simple - just recommend a book to me. Based on what you know about me from real life, or my LJ posts or interests, suggest a book - fiction, non-fiction, whatever - that you think I'd like, appreciate or just generally benefit from reading.
Then post this in your own LJ, so people can recommend books to you to.

Big news story today about JK Rowling taking a publisher's to court because they were going to print a Harry Potter encyclopedia based on a fan website.
The publisher says it is purely a reference material, and by allowing the website to exist for ten years, precedence has already been set.
As much as it pains me to agree with someone worth 45 million, you can't go making profit by using the characters created by someone else and not getting their permission. J says it is not about the money but about the control and idea rights and she is doing it for other authors. (Guess it would be nice to be in that situation.)
I hope that the result in this case doesn't have a knock on detrimental effect for other websites which are valuable resources on the net for information, especially roleplaying sites which can contain a stack of material that might come into this category.

How many have you read (and remember these are books that people re-read)?
Me - 18, 17*,15*13,8,7,5,4*,2,1
The * means I have re-read it myself. Anyone who has heard me talk about books will know that I very rarely re-read anything. I don't see the point when there are so many books I haven't read. I generally try and give my books away either to friends or to the charity shop. So the * guys in my list should consider themself honoured indeed.
